Of Blessed Memory
1987 - 2019

David Hynes is an Associate in Selman Breitman’s Seattle office and a member of the firm’s Insurance, Toxic Tort/Environmental, and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He has extensive litigation and trial experience handling matters involving insurance coverage and defense, and represents insurance companies in complex liability issues, including cases arising out of environmental remediation, food recalls, and general negligence.

Prior to joining Selman Breitman, David worked as staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Company, in both their New Orleans and Seattle offices. He honed his litigation skills defending insureds in both state and federal court. This experience enables him to evaluate both coverage and defense positions, and he works closely with clients to provide cost-effective recommendations and advice.

A native of Los Angeles who graduated from Tulane University Law School and the University of Pennsylvania, David has settled in Seattle with his wife after residing in several different states. When not helping clients with their legal needs, he spends time refining his "foodie" tastes, staying up to date in the Seattle restaurant scene, and hiking the Pacific Northwest.
