Simone McCormick to Speak on Legal Ethics at DRI Appellate Advocacy Seminar
Simone McCormick will speak at the DRI Appellate Advocacy Seminar, to be held March 14-15 at the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas.
In a session entitled, "Legal Ethics in the Digital Age," Simone will discuss the recent upswing in data breaches, privacy and security risks that arise in the practice of law, and what attorneys need to know in order to comply with legal and ethical requirements for protecting client data. Adam K. Moss (D'Amato Law Corporation) will moderate the session.
A Partner in Selman Breitman's Portland and San Francisco offices, Simone co-chairs the firm's Cyber Law practice group. Holding the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designation, she handles cases involving data incidents and forensic investigations. She advises clients on best practices for information privacy, data security, and risk assessment, conducting management/employee training on how to counter and respond to cyber threats and incidents.
