John Bauman is an Associate in Selman Leichenger Edson Hsu Newman & Moore’s San Francisco office and is a member of the firm’s Insurance practice group. He represents insurers in coverage litigation and also provides insurance coverage opinions including cases arising out of workers’ compensation fraud, construction disputes, and trucking and transportation claims. He also has experience in representing insurers in class actions arising out of Medicare superliens.

John has litigated cases on behalf of insurers as defense counsel and coverage counsel in several states during his career, and he represented policyholders in litigation against insures before joining Selman Leichenger Edson Hsu Newman & Moore. John’s experience as defense counsel gives him a special ability to anticipate the unexpected twists and turns of litigation to assist his clients in planning for all contingencies to resolve their cases efficiently and economically. His experience representing policyholders gives him a unique insight into the strategy of opposing counsel so John and his clients can plan proactively for litigation.

John has prepared presentations for his clients on the issues of insurance fraud, insurance coverage for trucking litigation involving the MCS-90 endorsement, and risk-shifting provisions in construction contracts.
