
Elizabeth Brockman and Peter Mintzer to Speak at EECMA Annual Conference
For the second consecutive year, Selman Breitman Partners Elizabeth Brockman and Peter Mintzer will speak at the Emerging and Environmental Claims Manager Association ("EECMA") Annual Conference. This year's event will be held May 1-3 at the Loews Portofino Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida.
On Thursday afternoon, Liz and co-presenters Eleanor Barr (Barr Mediations), Tom Vandenburg (Partner at Wood Smith Henning & Berman), and Alborz Wozniak (Principal of Veritas Environmental Consulting) will present a session entitled, "Drycleaner Litigation: Pay Now or Pay Later." The following day, Peter will be joined by Patrick Perry (AVP Claims, Argo Group), Jayne Cunningham (Beazley Environmental), and Kristien Webber (Vertex) in a session entitled, "Persistent Claims and Coverage Issues: What Have We Learned?"
Elizabeth Brockman is a Partner in the firm's Los Angeles office, working with the Insurance and Toxic Tort/Environmental practice groups. With more than 25 years of experience in insurance, Liz is widely considered an industry leader by her peers, and has been responsible for several published opinions before the California Supreme Court and the California Court of Appeal. She represents insurance companies in connection with coverage claims and litigated disputes in many areas, including environmental pollution arising under a wide variety of policies including CGL, EIL, PLL, and CPL coverages, toxic torts, fidelity, and medical products, many of which include extra-contractual claims.
The Managing Partner of the firm's Pacific Northwest group, Peter Mintzer is a frequent speaker in the area of insurance claims and related topics. He represents insurers in complex insurance coverage matters, particularly in the areas of environmental, toxic torts, construction defect, product defect, general liability, and professional liability matters.
The Emerging and Environmental Claims Managers Association (EECMA) is an informal group of property and casualty insurers and reinsurers.
