Elaine Fresch Addresses ABA Animal Law Committee on Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act
Equine practice group leader Elaine Fresch presented a Lunch and Learn session to the ABA’s Animal Law Committee (ALC) on the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA), which recognizes a newly formed private, self-regulatory non-profit corporation, the Horseracing integrity and Safety Authority, for purposes of developing and implementing a horseracing anti-doping and medication control program and a racetrack safety program for thoroughbred racing. Co-speaker Mary Westman is an Oklahoma attorney, horse breeder and registered nurse practicing equine law, general animal law, business transactions and general litigation.
The Managing Partner of Selman Breitman LLP's Construction Law and Equine practice groups, Elaine handles a variety of complex commercial/real estate litigation and subrogation matters. Elaine is the current Chair of the Equine Law Subcommittee of the ALC, which is part of the ABA’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Group. She is often called upon to speak on topics related to the equine and construction industries.
